The 2A Classification was the toughest of the six in this category. There were no freshmen finishes in the top 25 at state.

The top freshmen time for three miles at Detweiller Park this past fall was run by Carbondale’s Alex Partlow (15:29) at the Peoria Invitational at the end of September. Wilson Georges of Bartonville Limestone was another 10 seconds behind Partlow with his 15:39 time in the state meet race.

The two raced each other twice during the season. Partlow was 13 seconds ahead of Georges in the Peoria Invitational race. The order changed at state when Georges finished 42^nd while Partlow was 22 seconds behind finishing 86^th running 16:01.

Both runners had great freshman seasons. The edge goes to Georges in this category because of his state meet race.
