Here is a list of the top 100 Boys Illinois XC teams regardless of class for the 2019 season. Results of 365 Girls teams were analyzed from 2019 meets to come up with this list.

The list complies performances from the entire season and not a team’s last race. There is more emphasis in this list on races contested towards the end of the season using information and results from IHSA.org, Athletic.net, Seasonal Rankings from ILXCTF.com, and Illinois XC Speed Ratings (ilxcspeedratings.com).

Top 75 lists from each classifications are also included.

Top List Notes:

With the IHSA changing the classifications starting this season, it was interesting to see if there would be any significant changes compared to last year. 55 Class 3A Schools, 26 Class 2A Schools, and 19 Class 1A Schools made up the 2019 Top 100 Lists. This compares to 62 Class 3A schools, 25 Class 2A schools, and 13 Class 1A schools make up the top 100 list in 2018.

Lisle Benet Academy (#14) is the highest ranked 2A team in the 2019 Top 100 list. Belvidere North was the highest ranked 2A team in 2018 (#17).

Winnebago (#13) is the highest ranked Class 1A team in the Top 100 list. Eureka was the highest ranked 1A team in 2018 (#21).

Oswego East (#29) was the highest ranked team in the Top 100 list not to run in the IHSA State Cross Country Meet compared to Palatine (#19) in 2018.

Aurora Waubonsie Valley (#80) was the highest ranked team in the top 100 list not to run in the IHSA Sectional Meets compared to Oswego East (#31) in 2018. Oswego East’s top five average was 18:39. The average for Waubonsie Valley in 2019 was 19:35.

The 25th position in the 2019 list had a top five average of 18:30 compared to 18:26 in 2018.

The 50th position in the 2019 list had a top five average of 19:07 compared to 18:56 in 2018.

The 100th position in the 2019 list had a top five average of 19:54 compared to 19:41 in 2018
