Illinois HS Track & Field Highlights - 2025 Girls Conference Meets

This past week belonged to Girls Conference meets that took place across the state. The athletes and teams will now turn their focus to sectional meets with a goal of competing at the IHSA Girls State Track and Field Championships.

 

Here are summaries of the Girls Conference Meets that took place from May 5 to May 10.

 

Mid-Suburban League @ Hoffman Estates (5/7) – Prospect defended their league title using some timely wins and unrivaled depth that will pay off in the next couple of weeks. The Knights scored 166 points to win the team title finishing ahead of Barrington (94 points), Hersey (84 points), and Schaumburg (82.5 points). Anna Niebrugge led Prospect with two individual sprint wins also a part of the two sprint relays wins. Although the 100 Meter Dash final had a +5.5 m/s tailwind, Niebrugge used it to her advantage a personal best of 11.73 to win the event ahead of Daisha Brunson of Conant (11.92) and Nikki Niebrugge of Prospect (12.08). It was the same finish in the 200 Meter Dash as Anna Niebrugge ran a wind aided 24.04 (+3.2 m/s) to edge Brunson (24.16) for the win. Nikki Niebrugge ran 24.75 to place third. Both Niebrugge sisters were part of the team’s quartet along with Amina Hadziahmetovic and Samantha Skowronski who ran 47.76 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay almost two seconds ahead of Hersey (49.57). Anna Niebrugge gave her team a big lead in the opening leg of the 4x200 Meter Relay. Prospect ran 1:46.32 to win holding off Hersey (1:46.43) and Barrington (1:47.22).

 

The top two times so far this season in the 100 Meter Hurdles occurred in this meet. Daisha Brunson ran 14.01 with a +4.8 m/s tailwind to win the race as Amy Carhee of Schaumburg ran 14.10 to finish second. One of the race favorites hit a hurdle but still finished out of the top eight. The Palatine junior was forced to scratch out of the 300 Meter Hurdles. Amina Hadziahmetovic of Prospect had control of that race running 44.47 to win the race with Carhee running 45.41 to finish second. Hazel Nadal of Rolling Meadows held on to run 57.62 to win the 400 Meter Dash with Dajana Skolimowska of Prospect ran 57.48 to finish second.

 

Mia Sirois of Barrington again was in the distance spotlight in this meet with three wins. Sirois was part of Barrington’s quartet in the 4x800 Meter Relay along with       

Madison Miles, Ella McGee, and Scout Storms that ran 9:27.37 to win the race ahead of Prospect (9:35.60) and Hersey (9:36.07). Sirois came back a little while later to easily win the 3200 Meter Run (10:18.48) ahead of Madeline Bialko of Hersey (10:56.48) and Ireland Wildhart of Prospect (10:58.02). Sirois pulled away from the field in the 1600 Meter Run on third lap as she ran 4:55.71 to claim the win. Meg Peterson of Prospect ran 5:00.68 to finish second ahead of Scout Storms (5:04.01), and Abigail Jordan of Palatine (5:06.61). Prospect ended the meet by running 4:04.01 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay with Barrington running 4:08.05 to finish second.

 

The best field event performance came from NBNI National Champion Kaylee Meyer of Schaumburg as she cleared 5-7 to win the High Jump. Yane Jansen Van Rensburg and of Barrington cleared 11-6.25 along with Brooke Neri of Prospect in the Pole Vault. The Barrington junior won the event on fewer misses. Palatine’s Aisha Kazeem jumped 18-2.5 to win the Long Jump. Zofia Zeranski of Elk Grove jumped a personal best of 34-10.25 to win the Triple Jump. Sofia Wydra of Conant won the Shot Put with a 36-10.25 mark. Hersey swept the first two places in the Discus with Sadie Marks throwing 120-3 to win with teammate Madison Fee at 119-9 to finish second.

 

Southwest Suburban Conference @ Lockport (5/8) – Homewood-Flossmoor dominated the team championship scoring 179 points for the title. Lincoln-Way East led the pack finishing second with 95 points ahead of Lockport Township (86 points) and Lincoln-Way Central (85 points). Homewood-Flossmoor’s success came from winning all five sprint/hurdles wins and winning the three sprint relays. Mariyah Robinson led the Vikings winning three individual sprint wins. Homewood-Flossmoor swept the 100 and the 200 with Robinson running 12.00 to win the 100 Meter Dash with teammate Aniya Mullins running 12.19 to finish second. Alanah Smith of Lincoln-Way West (12.28) and Grace Murphy of Lincoln-Way East (12.36) finished third and fourth. Robinson ran 24.36 to win the 200 Meter Dash as teammate London Willingham ran 25.10 to finish second. Robinson’s third win came in the 400 Meter Dash as she ran 55.99 to win with Lincoln-Way East’s Alaina Steele (56.33). Both performances were personal bests for Robinson and Steele. Homewood-Flossmoor ran 47.17 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay ahead of Lincoln-Way West (48.44) and Lincoln-Way East (48.70). The Vikings easily won the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:41.27) by four seconds ahead of Lincoln-Way West (1:45.73). Homewood-Flossmoor ran 4:03.80 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay with Lincoln-Way East ran 4:07.21 to finish second.

 

Diaymond Childress helped Homewood-Flossmoor with wins in both hurdle races. Childress ran 14.26 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles ahead of Nkeoma Nwachukwu from Sandburg (14.32), Kyra Hayden of Lincoln-Way East (14.55) and Breasia Mims of Homewood-Flossmoor (14.81). Childress also ran 45.25 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles with Sydney Cline of Lockport finishing second (47.79). Homewood-Flossmoor had two double wins in the field events. Jaloni Wiley had a 40-4.25 best to win the Shot Put as her teammate London Denton finished second (36-6.75). Wiley also threw 134-9 to win the Discus with another teammate Micah Jackson throwing 129-6 to place second. London Jarrett cleared 4-11.75 to win the High Jump on fewer misses. Jarrett also jumped to a personal best of 19-1.25 to win the Long Jump. Nora Keane of Lincoln-Way East finished second (17-8.75).

 

While Homewood-Flossmoor basically controlled most of the meet, Lincoln-Way Central came away with a sweep of all four distance events. The quartet of Keira Faxel, Mia Forystek, Ana Dal Ponte, and Jillian Davies ran 9:33.13 to lead Lincoln-Way Central to the win in the 4x800 Meter Relay just ahead of Lockport (9:34.59) and Sandburg (9:37.50). Ava Dughetti ran 11:37,18 to win the 3200 Meter Run. The Knights took the top two places in the 800 Meter Run with Ana Dal Ponte winning (2:21.67) with Jillian Davies (2:22.17) close behind. The Knights also swept the 1600 Meter Run with Mia Forystek winning (5:16.55) ahead of Keira Faxel (5:21.44).

 

Southwestern Conference @ Alton (5/7) – Edwardsville had the edge in this meet scoring 137 points to win the conference team title. O’Fallon and Belleville East both scored 122 points and tied for second place. Edwardsville was led by a double win in the hurdle events from Sophia Shapiro. The sophomore won a competitive 100 Meter Hurdles race (14.26) ahead of Amyjia Robinson of Belleville West (14.56) and Hailey Gray of Belleville East (14.99). Shapiro ran the fastest time in the state in the 300 Meter Hurdles this year with her 42.83 winning time. NeVaeh Bryant of Alton ran 43.78 to finish second with Robinson running 44.61 to finish third. Bryant earlier in the meet jumped 36-2.75 to win the Triple Jump. Rayna Raglin of Alton tuned up for the end of the month with some great sprint times. Raglin ran 11.83 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of Cassidy Willis of Belleville East (12.20) and Joanne Anoke of Edwardsville (12.26). Raglin ran a personal best of 24.39 to win the 200 Meter Dash with Anoke second (24.93) and Willis third (25.18). It was a photo finish in the 400 Meter Dash as Belleville East’s Kamryn Durrant and Lyric Jones crossing the line both at 59.21 with Durrant winning. Ellie Bush of O’Fallon was a multiple event winner running 2:23.79 to win the 800 Meter Run with teammate Mae Naviera placing second (2:25.84). Bush and Naveira took the top two places in the 1600 Meter Run with Bush running 5:19.20 to win with Naviera at 5:28.03.

 

Three teams were under 48 seconds in the 4x100 Meter Relay. Alton took the win (47.28) with Belleville East (47.58) and Edwardsville (47.60) close behind. The 4x200 Meter Relay was dynamite as Belleville East ran 1:40.68 to win the race with Alton (1:41.74), Edwardsville (1:42.73), O’Fallon (1:43.15), and Belleville West (1:43.41 all in the top five. Belleville East ruled the 4x400 Meter Relay winning in a 3:56.74 time. O’Fallon finished second (4:04.23) ahead of East St. Louis (4:04.23). Edwardsville swept the top two places in both weight events. Joi Story had a best of 38-7.5 to win the Shot Put with teammate Jayla Gathing at 35-6 to place second. That order changed in the Discus as Gathing threw a personal best of 136-10 to win the event with Story throwing 135-2 to finish second.

 

Southwest Prairie Conference @ Minooka (5/7) – Meet record kept falling in this powerful conference meet. Plainfield North swept all four varsity relays helping them win the team title with 147 points. Oswego East (119.5 points) and Minooka (116 points) finished second and third. The Tigers scored in 15 out of the 18 events contested including all track events. There were two double event winners in this meet. Lauren Dellangelo ran a wind aided 12.05 time to win the 100 Meter Dash with teammate Aniya Poindexter running 12.12 in finishing second. Dellangelo came back to run 56.10 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Briyah Beatty of Plainfield East (57.66) and Lindsey Wenz of Plainfield North (57.89) finished second and third. Taylor McLain picked up the third sprint win for Plainfield North as she ran 24.60 to win the 200 Meter Dash with Elizabeth Egwunwoke of Minooka (25.06) and Kaiya Bradshaw of Plainfield North (25.13) finished second and third.

 

Plainfield North’s relay success started when the Tigers ran 9:39.11 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay ahead of Oswego East (9:46.34) and Minooka (9:53.80). Plainfield North set a new meet record in running 46.76 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay. It currently is the third fastest time in the state. Oswego East was the closest team in the race running 48.26. Plainfield North’s third win came when they ran 1:40.82 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay with Bolingbrook placing second (1:43.97). The Tigers ended the meet running 3:54.93 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay over 10 seconds ahead of Minooka (4:05.59). Layla Brisbon of Oswego East ran 15.00 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Gianna Caldwell of Minooka ran 47.92 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles.

 

Marlie Czarniewski of Plainfield North ran 10:33.71 to win the 3200 Meter Run with Maya Ledesma of Minooka finishing second (10:37.59). Both runners were within two seconds of each other throughout the race. Both broke the previous meet record. Ledesma came back in the 1600 Meter Run with another fantastic race. Ledesma ran 5:01.18 to win the race and set a new meet record. Elsie Czarniewski of Plainfield North was Ledesma’s closest competition running 5:07.10 to finish second. Courtney Clabough of Yorkville had a 40-6.25 season’s best to win the Shot Put with Kailah Murray of Joliet West finishing second (38-8.25). Liv Paribello of Oswego East threw 128-11 to win the Discus as Clabough threw 128-6 to finish second. Aaliyah Rodriguez of Plainfield Central jumped 18-0.5 to win the Long Jump. Rodriguez came back to jump 36-6.75 in winning the Triple Jump.

 

WSC-Silver Conference @ Downers Grove North (5/9) – Downers Grove North easily won on their home track scoring 169 to repeat as conference champions ahead of Glenbard West (97 points) and Oak Park-River Forest (90 points). Jillian Booth of York ran a personal best of 12.18 to win the 100 Meter Dash with Allison Leach of Downers Grove North finishing second (12.54). That order changed in the 200 Meter Dash as Lynch ran 25.21 for the win with Booth running at 25.50. Four runners were under 59 seconds in the 400 Meter Dash. Julia Brown of Oak Park-River Forest ran a personal best of 55.95) to win the event with teammate Isabella Brauc running 58.22 to finish second. Morgan Navarre of York (58.50) and Glenbard West’s Nora Janninck (58.55) and Mackenzie Gilbert (59.45 were all in the top five. Ava Flynn of Downers Grove North ran 16.05 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Chloe Todd of Glenbard West ran 48.07 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles with Flynn finishing second (48.23). Downers Grove North ran 48.69 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay as York ran 49.10 to finish second. The Trojans also won the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:43.74) two seconds ahead of Glenbard West (1:45.83). York was disqualified in that relay. Oak Park-River Forest ran 4:01.34 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay. Downers North ran 4:02.20 to finish second.

 

All three races in the distance races finished close. Alayna Todnem of Downers North and York’s Karlin Janowski traded off the lead in the 3200 Meter Run. Todnem took the lead on the final lap to run 11:04.18 for the win. Janowski ran a personal best of 11:05.03 to finish second. Alana Gerona of Oak Park-River Forest (11:19.97), Ella Satre of Hinsdale Central (11:20.79) and Alyssa Novak of Glenbard West (11:21.60) were less than two seconds of each other finishing in the top five. Less than a second separated the top three runners in the 800 Meter Run. Lily Hodneland of Hinsdale Central ran 2:14.00 to win with Ava Gilley of Downers Grove North (2:14.58) and Sophia Galiano-Sanchez of York (2:14.60) finishing second and third. Alexa Novak of Glenbard West led throughout the 1600 Meter Run with Downers North’s freshman Macy Ermitage right by Novak’s side. Novak ran 4:59.11 to hold off Ermitage (4:59.61 to win. Glenbard West ran a season’s best of 9:25.15 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay ahead of Oak Park-River Forest (9:33.93) and Downers North (9:40.01).

 

There were two multi event winners both coming in the field events. Avery Bonino of Hinsdale Central jumped 17-4.75 to win the Long Jump and 35-5.25 to win the Triple Jump just by two inches ahead of Downers Grove North’s Victoria Nicholson (35-3.25). Amanda Douglas of Proviso West won the Shot Put (36-2.5) and the Discus (126-8). Three athletes cleared 4-11.75 with Mackenzie Maci of Downers Grove North winning on fewer misses. Kendall Cullen of Glenbard West cleared 11-0.25 to win the Pole Vault.

 

Chicago Public League @ Knute Rocke Stadium (5/10) – Whitney Young tuned up for the state meet scoring 155.5 points to win the City championship. Kenwood edged Lane 106-105 for second place. South Shore International scored 72 points to finish fourth. Angelena Bullocks of Whitney Young had a fantastic sprint double establishing a best time in the state in the 100 with some help of a strong tailwind. Bullocks ran a US #11 time of 11.33 (+4.9 m/s) to win the 100 Meter Dash. Ella Sweatt of Whitney Young (11.99) along with Kenwood’s Chloe Gillard (11.99) and Kee’Lani Whitlock (12.01) finished second through fourth. Bullocks came back to run 23.74 (+2.9 m/s) to win the 200 Meter Dash with Whitlock (24.28) and Sweatt (24.91) finishing second and third. Jordan Hamb of South Shore International ran a fast state leading 13.99 (+3.7 wind) to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Simone Bernard of Whitney Young (14.24) and Tykeena McDonald of Simeon (14.74) finished second and third. Less than half a second separated the top four runners in the 400 Meter Dash. Leah Smith of South Shore International ran 59.15) to win the event as Kayla Riepe of Whitney Young (59.27), Claire Davis of Lane (59.50) and Ariel Haynes of Kenwood were all in the top four. Jamiylah Jones of Kenwood ran 46.98 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles closely followed by McDonald (46.99). Whitney Young ran 47.54 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay with Kenwood running 47.83 to finish second. Kenwood pulled away to run 1:42.88 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Whitney Young ran 1:45.32 to finish second. Lane ran 4:03.62 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay ahead of Kenwood (4:04.70) and Whitney Young (4:05.10). Taya Rice of Agricultural Science won the Long Jump (18-4.25) as well as the Triple Jump (37-6).

 

DuKane Conference @ Glenbard North (5/8) – St. Charles North scored 145 points to win the conference team title ahead of Batavia (133.5 points) and Wheaton North (101.5 points). Sophia Dalrymple of Wheaton North won three events jumping 17-11 to win the Long Jump before hitting the track. Once there, Dalrymple ran a personal best of 14.71 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. She then came back to run 44.84 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Elizabeth Wende of Batavia set a meet record of 12.22 to win the 100 Meter Dash. Wende came back to run 58.35 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Autumn Gruenwald of Wheaton North ran 58.95 to finish second. Wende also anchored Batavia’s team to win the 4x100 Meter Relay (49.51) ahead of St. Charles North (49.76). Geneva (1:46.23) won the 4x200 Meter Relay while St. Charles North ran 4:06.82 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay.

 

Kara Glenn of St. Charles North ran a personal best of 10:55.36 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Avery Hacker of Batavia also achieved a personal best running 10:57.68) to place second. Gwen Hobson of St. Charles North 2:18.81 to win the 800 Meter Run ahead of Taylor Peahl of Geneva (2:20.53). Glenn came back from the 3200 to run 2:22.62 to finish third. Nicloe Poglitsch of Wheaton-Warrenville ran the final lap of the 1600 Meter Run in 71 seconds to pull away from the field to run a season’s best of 5:10.26 to win the conference title ahead of Hobson (5:15.46) and Hacker (5:16.34). The quartet of Clara Franken, Addy Lindsay, Abby Barrett, and Mackenzie Armstrong helped Wheaton-Warrenville South run 9:46.76 to just miss the meet record in winning the 4x800 Meter Relay.

 

DuPage Valley Conference @ Neuqua Valley (5/8) – It was close between the top three teams in this meet. Neuqua Valley scored 141 points to win the conference title finishing ahead of Naperville Central (126 points) and Naperville North (120 points). Neuqua Valley swept the first two places in the Long Jump. Gabi Karvelis jumped 17-10.25 to win with teammate Olivia Dalson finishing second (17-9). Karvelis came back to jump a seasonal best of 38-8.25 to win the Triple Jump ahead of Kennedi Reed from Naperville Central (37-9.25) and Dalson (36-7). Emma Berres of Naperville North defended her title in the 800 Meter Run (2:18.23) ahead of Eloise Graft of Naperville Central (2:20.09) and Sophia Schultz of Naperville North (2:20.46). Elizabeth Hall of Neuqua Valley ran 11:12.06 to win the 3200 Meter Run ahead of Naperville North’s Shania Tandon (11:22.16) and Georgia Karstens (11:24.05). Lily Babiak of Waubonsie Valley ran 5:11.12 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of Naperville North’s Berres (5:12.46) and Rianna Tandon (5:15.06) along with Hall (5:15.79) finishing fourth.

 

Lola Satre-Morales of Naperville Central ran a season’s best of 58.59 to win the 400 Meter Dash with Megan Schoenjohn of Naperville North finishing second (59.55). Arianna Hammons of Metea Valley won the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.47) and the 300 Meter Hurdles (47.03).

 

Fox Valley Conference @ Huntley (5/8) – Host Huntley won easily in this meet scoring 174.5 points easily distancing themselves from Hampshire (78.5 points) and Cary-Grove (59 points). Huntley scored in all eighteen events winning seven of them.

15 out of 18 events winning seven of those titles. Dominique Johnson of Huntley jumped 19-6.5 to win the Long Jump ahead of teammate Addison Busam (18-7.5). The two athletes were part of the team’s 4x100 Meter Relay that ran 48.56 for the win. Huntley ran 1:45.06 to edge Hampshire (1:45.09) to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Katherine Jewell of Prairie Ridge was a double winner in the sprints. The senior ran 12.15 to win the 100 Meter Dash with a tailwind at +3.9 m/s. The wind was just over the allowable at +2.1 in the 200 Meter Dash. Jewell ran 25.12 for the win with Johnson running 25.42 to finish second. Prairie Ridge freshman Emaline Foster was a double winner running 11:15.53 to win the 3200 Meter Run and then ran 5:11.03 to win the 1600 Meter Run. Olivia Parker of Cary-Grove ran 15.38 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Parker came back to run 45.80 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles.

 

Central State Eight Conference @ Chatham-Glenwood (5-8) – Defending Class 2A State team champion Normal University repeated as conference champion scoring 177 points. Chatham-Glenwood (125 points) and Sacred Heart-Griffin (104 points) finished second and third. U-High won three of the four varsity relays in this meet. The Pioneers ran 47.04 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay by almost two seconds ahead of Sacred Heart-Griffin (49.84). The margin was closer to three seconds in the 4x200 Meter Relay between the two schools with U-High running 1:42.90. Their quartet ran 4:03.86 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay with SHG again second (4:05.63). Isabella Thurston of U-High was a double winner in the weight events throwing 126-0 to win the Discus ahead of teammate McKenzie Matejka (121-0). Thurston came back with a 34-6 put to win the Shot Put.

 

Chatham-Glenwood freshman Iye Adaramola swept the sprints running 12.28 to win the 100 Meter Dash and then ran a personal best of 25.02 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Ali Londrigan of Chatham-Glenwood ran a conference record time of 5:00.81 to win the 1600 Meter Run. U-High’s Zoe Carter ran 5:06.93 to finish second. Carter earlier in the meet ran 10:55.63 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Ashlyn Chopra of Chatham-Glenwood ran 11:12.70 to place second. Rochester with Natalie Nichols, Ashley Zeibert, Calista Gardner, and Brooke Zeibert ran 9:38.08 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay with Normal University running 9:50.23 to finish second. Brooke Zeibert came back to run 2:15.65 to win the 800 Meter Run with Sophie Rentmeister of Chatham-Glenwood running a personal best of 2:18.15 to finish second.

 

Central Suburban League-North @ Vernon Hills (5/8) – Vernon Hills won the league divisional title on their home track scoring 155 points. Niles West was the closest team to the Cougars scoring 114 points to finish second. Carissa Uy of Niles West was a double event winner in this meet jumping 17-4 to win the Long Jump. Uy came back to jump 35-1 to win the Triple Jump. Precious Akinsanya of Maine West won the 100 Meter Dash (12.60) ahead of Uy (13.07). Akinsanya won her second event when she ran 26.17 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Lena Schultz of Niles West ran 26.83 to finish second. Schultz earlier in the meet ran 59.17 to win the 400 Meter Dash with Ashley Laba of Maine East (1:01.71) placing second. Laba ran a personal best of 2:16.80 to win the 800 Meter Run with Estella Ollinger of Vernon Hills running 2:21.79 to finish second.

 

Central Suburban League-South @ Glenbrook North (5/8) – New Trier won the league divisional championship scoring 133 points. It was a close battle for second with Glenbrook South scoring 108.5 to finish second ahead of Evanston Township (102 points) and Maine South (97 points). Hunter Vandergriff of Evanston Township was the only double winner in this meet starting with a 12.33 time to win the 100 Meter Dash. The junior came back to run 25.63 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Her teammate Brie Noel ran 25.89 to finish second. Noel earlier ran 58.28 to win the 400 Meter Dash ahead of Emilia Smith of New Trier (58.44) and Sarah Cull of Maine South (59.58). Smith did win the Triple Jump with a personal best of 38-4.25. Danielle Yakhnis of Glenbrook North jumped 37-3 to finish second. She also jumped 17-5.5 to win the Long Jump. Stella Davis of Evanston Township ran 2:21.26 to win the 800 Meter Run with Anna Rivera of New Trier finishing second (2:25.85). Kayla Ritchie of New Trier set a new personal best of 11:14.56 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Sofia Arcuri of Maine South ran 11:28.52 to finish second. Arcuri came back to run 5:21.87 to win the 1600 Meter Run with her teammate Tessie Bradley running 5:25.44 to finish second. New Trier ran 4:03.96 for the win in the 4x400 Meter Relay ahead of Maine South (4:04.37).

 

North Suburban Conference @ Lake Zurich (5/8) – Lake Zurich won their seventh straight conference title scoring 179 points. Stevenson scored 105 points to finish second. The Bears were led by two athletes that had multiple events wins. Kendall Flournoy just missed a third win but ran second in the 100 Meter Dash (12.32) just one hundredths a second behind event winner Ava Wilson of Stevenson (12.31). Both athletes ran in personal bests. Flournoy bounced back running 59.00 to win the 400 Meter Dash with Wilson running 59.58 to finish second. Flournoy also won the 200 Meter Dash (25.86). Paulina Krupsky also gave the Bears two wins in the distance events starting by running 2:22.09 to win the 800 Meter Run with teammate Celia Blaylock running 2:26.59 finishing second. Krupsky ran 5:14.63 to win the 1600 Meter Run holding off Lauren Hamilton of Zion-Benton (5:16.23). Victoria Hunter of Zion-Benton swept the hurdle events running 15.67 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and 46.28 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Arisa Bisofa of Lake Zurich set a new school record in the Discus. The freshman threw 140-7 to capture the conference title.

 

Big 12 Conference @ Bloomington (5/9) – Champaign Centennial captured the Girls conference title scoring 120 points finishing ahead of Normal West (92 points), Danville (84 points), and Normal Community (78 points). Noelle Hunt of Centennial jumped 17-11.5 to win the Long Jump and starting this meet. Champaign Centennial won three of the four contested relays. Centennial ran 9:50.46to win the 4x800 Meter Relay with Normal West finishing second (9:56.85). The Chargers ran 47.51 to win the 4x100   Meter Relay ahead of Danville (47.88), Normal West (48.75, and to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Danville was a close second timed in Peoria Richwoods (48.79. The third win for Centennial came when they ran 1:42.11 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Danville was a close second (1:42.29) ahead of Normal West (1:44.92). Normal Community won the 4x400 Meter Relay (4:06.58) with cross town rival Normal West finishing second (4:09.40).

 

Jamia Esther of Danville ran a personal best of 12.13 to win the 100 Meter Dash with Nina Brown of Centennial (12,28) and Taylor Washington of Normal Community (12.37). Esther double back to run 25.12 to win the 200 Meter Dash with Washington running 25.30 to finish second. Brown ran a personal best of 57.27 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Bianna Johnson of Peoria Richwoods (57.90), Abigail Jackson of Normal West (58.01), and Jaydah Green of Peoria Richwoods (58.05) all finished within 15 hundredths of a second of each other. Kylie Huffaker of Bloomington ran 15.39 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Alicia Thomas of Centennial ran 46.72 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Marco Reynolds of Normal Community had a 39-1.75 effort to win the Shot Put. Julie Bach of Normal West ran a 2:16.28 personal best to win a tight 800 Meter Run. Lily Cavanaugh of Normal Community finished second (2:17.47) ahead of Alaina Kimble of Centennial (2:17.94). Meghan Zopel of Peoria Notre Dame won the 1600 Meter Run (5:07.77) to finish ahead of Normal West’s Renee Warren (5:11.71) and Bach (5:21.30). Warren earlier ran 11:28.35 to win the 3200 Meter Run.

 

Girls Catholic Athletic Conference @ Loyola (5/10) – St. Ignatius College Prep was in complete command in the team championship race scoring 179.5 to claim the conference title. DePaul College Prep finished second (91.5 points) ahead of Loyola Academy (73.5 points). The 2A State XC champion Wolfpack and their distance strength had to take a back seat as Maliyah Miller won all three sprint events to lead her team. The junior started out by running a personal best 12.16 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of St. Laurence’s Addison Bartling (12.69) and Aisha Williams (12.89). Miller went on to run 58.51 to win the 400 Meter Dash by close to four seconds and ran 25.42 to win the 200 Meter Dash by over a second ahead of teammate Chika Ezike (26.58).

 

The distance events were dynamite in this meet. Allison Shutler of St. Ignatius College Prep was dominant in the 3200 Meter Run timed at 10:38.95 for the win. The freshman finished ahead of the pack led by Ashlynn Lindt of Montini (11:24.74 by 46 seconds. Four runners dipped under 2:20 in the 800 Meter Run. Emily Stecky of DePaul College Prep ran 2:13.74 to win the race with Annika Swan of St. Ignatius College Prep finished second (2:14.23) ahead of Margaret Andrzejewski of St. Francis (2:15.53) and Cecilia Hilby of Aurora Central Catholic (2:19.89). Swan came back to run 5:00.34 to win the 1600 while Shutler finished second (5:02.70) ahead of Jane Lynch of Loyola Academy (5:02.99) and Erin Hinsdale of St. Francis (5:05.65). St. Ignatius ran 9:42.30 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay just ahead of DePaul College Prep (9:43.69). Molly Russelburg of Aurora Central Catholic cleared 10-11.75 to win the Pole Vault. Aniya Hamilton of De La Salle ran 15.84 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Ellen Gundlach of Loyola Academy was a close second (15.92). Hamilton ran 47.81 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles with Gundlach again finishing second (48.34).

 

Apollo Conference @ Taylorville (5/8) – Mt. Zion repeated as conference champions scoring 183 points finishing ahead of Mahomet-Seymour (117 points) and Effingham (98 points). Kendall Smith led Mt. Zion with three individual wins. Smith jumped 36-9 to win the Triple Jump. Smith ran 15.39 to easily win the 100 Meter Hurdles by more than two seconds. Smith ran 45.70 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles again by more than two seconds. Madalyn Marx of Mahomet-Seymour also had a great meet winning all three sprint events. Marx ran 12.37 to win the 100 Meter Dash. Her second win came when she ran 56.76 to win the 400 Meter Dash ahead of Charleston’s Mickaylee Patton (58.40) and Mt. Zion’s Brooklyn Kondritz (59.99). Kondritz earlier in the meet cleared 11-8.5 to win the Pole Vault. Marx’s third win came in the 200 Meter Dash (25.43) ahead of Patton (26.49). Marx also anchored Mahomet-Seymour to the win in the 4x100 Meter Relay (49.89) with Mt. Zion finishing second (50.86).

 

Big Northern Conference @ Dixon (5/8) – Oregon won the team title with 112.5 points. Rockford Lutheran (99 points) and Genoa-Kingston (83.25 points finished second and third. Abigail Baumann was in the spotlight winning all three distance events. Baumann ran 11:29.24 to win the 3200 Meter Run ahead of Ariel Hernandez of Rock Falls (11:43.25). Baumann ran a personal best of 2:20.71 to win the 800 Meter Run. Riley Fritz of Rockford Christian finished second (2:24.07). Baumann also won the 1600 Meter Run (5:24.46) ahead of Fritz (5:35.13). Jillian Hammer of Oregon ran 15.62 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles edging Malia Morton of Byron (15.71). Hammer also ran 47.07 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Karsyn Palmer of Winnebago won both the Shot Put (32-9) and the Discus (121-7). Natasha Bianchi of Genoa-Kingston jumped 16-9.75 to win the Long Jump and jumping 35-0.5 to win the Triple Jump.

 

Chicago Prep Conference @ Westmont (5/8) – Host Westmont scored 177 points) to win the Girls conference title with CICS/Northtown scoring 112 points to finish second. Kyla Babb of Westmont tuned up for next week’s sectional meet winning the 800 Meter Run (2:33.16) by 30 seconds and running 5:23.34 to win the 1600 Meter Run by almost two minutes.

 

Central Illinois Conference @ Macon Meridian (5/8) – Tuscola won this conference title with 175 points ahead of Shelbyville (138 points) and Clinton (126 points). Lia Patterson led Tuscola with four individual wins. Patterson won the 100 Meter Hurdles easily (14.77) winning by almost three seconds. Patterson came right back to run a season’s best of 12.47 to win the 100 Meter Dash with winning margin of 1.29 seconds. Her third win came when she ran a season’s best of 44.06 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles winning by over five seconds. Patterson concluded her meet running 25.01 to win the 200 Meter Dash ahead of Shelbyville’s Lily Woolery (26.45) and Aly Douglass (26.92). Woolery earlier won the 400 Meter Dash dipping under 60 seconds with a personal best of 58.84. Doulas ran 2:22.04 to win the 800 Meter Run by 14 seconds. Shelbyville ran a solo 9:53.65 to win by 77 seconds. Kate Foltz of Tuscola earned two wins in the other distance events. Foltz ran easily with a 12:04.20 time to win by close to a minute. Foltz returned to the track to run a season’s best of 5:04.06 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of Shelbyville’s Tessa Bowers (5:31.39).

 

Illinois Central Eight Conference @ Herscher (5/8) – Lisle scored 147.5 points for the team win with Wilmington finishing second (114 points). McKenna Van Tilburg of Wilmington had a big night winning four events. Van Tilburg started her night running 15.38 for a personal best and the win in the 100 Meter Hurdles with Alyssa Wollenzien of Reed-Custer placing second (15.57). Van Tilburg came right back to run another personal best (12.35) to win the 100 Meter Dash. Her third win came over the 300 Hurdles running 45.34 to win with Wollenzien second (47.00). Wollenzien also cleared 4-11.75 to win the High Jump in this meet. The Wilmington freshman’s final win came when she ran 25.84 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Another freshman, Klarke Goranson of Manteno, won three events as she tuned up for next week’s sectional meet. She started by winning 11:01.80 to win the 3200 Meter Run her margin of victory of 84 seconds. The freshman ran 2:22.40 to win the 800 Meter Run ahead of Celeste Richards of Peotone (2:31.31). Goranson’s third win when she ran 5:05.88 to win the 1600 Meter Run by 26 seconds ahead of Kelly O’Connor of Herscher (5:31.92). O’Connor ran 1:02.38 for a personal best and a win in the 400 Meter Dash.

 

Independent School League @ Lake Forest Academy (5/8) – Latin scored 150 points to win the team title ahead of Lake Forest Academy (120 points) and Regina Dominican (98 points). Vivian Lee-Yee of Latin led her team with a double win in the hurdles. Lee-Yee ran 17.54 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles as well as running 49.50 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Katie Delia of Lake Forest ran to wins in three events. Delia ran 2:22.05 to win the 800 Meter Run ahead of Francesca Mora of Latin (2:23.95). Delia came right back to run 58.58 to win the 400 Meter Dash ahead of Reese Meyers of North Shore-Country Dau (59.98) and Mora (1:02.67). In her final high school race, Delia ran 25.83 to win the 200 Meter Dash again ahead of Meyers (26.35). Meyers in the 100 Meter Dash ran 13.20 to win the 100 Meter Dash just ahead of Xia Nesbitt of Chicago University (13.21). Taara Sajdeh of Chicago University ran 11:39.70 to win the 3200 Meter Run with Ellie Anderson of Latin (5:41.26). Sajdeh came back to run 5:33.49 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of Mora (5:37.34) and Anderson (5:41.26).

 

Little Ten Conference @ Waterman (5/8) – Newark won the Girls team title with 142 points. Illinois Math and Science Academy scored 110 points to finish second. Charlotte Okulaja of IMSA jumped 18-8.25 to win the Long Jump. She came back to jump 35-9.5 in winning the Triple Jump. Tess Carlson of Newark ran 50.24 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Carlson cleared 10-11.75 to win the Pole Vault ahead of Alexis Punsalan of Somonauk (10-6). Punsalan went on to run 13.37 to win the 100 Meter Dash and 27.22 to win the 200 Meter Dash.

 

Mississippi Valley Conference @ Jerseyville (5/8) – Troy Triad scored 147 points to win the team title ahead of Mascoutah and Waterloo who both scored 129 points. The Knights were led by Sophia Schardan who won two sprint titles and anchored Triad to two relay wins. The junior ran 12.25 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of teammate Addie Field (12.96). She came back to run 24.89 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Schardan anchored to Triad to win in the 4x100 Meter Relay (48.53) and the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:45.49) as they won by more than a second ahead of Mascoutah (1:46.84). Jamison Love of Mascoutah swept the hurdle events winning 14.92 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and 45.95 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Cameron Crump of Waterloo ran 11:12.15 to win the 3200 Meter Run by almost 50 seconds. Crump came back to win the 1600 Meter Run (5:16.21).

 

NIC-10 Conference @ Freeport (5/8) – Rockford Boylan won the team title with 118 points. Rockford Guilford finished second with 102 points). Zariah Burnett of Guilford had a big night winning three individual events. Burnett jumped a season’s best of 17-9.75 to win the Long Jump. She ran a personal best of 12.14 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of Freeport’s Taniah McElroy (12.24) and Angela Barr-Meighan (12.63). Burnett’s third win came when she ran 25.57 to win the 200 Meter Dash edging McElroy (25.71). Boylan won the 4x800 Meter Relay (9:56.76 as Hononegah finished second (10:04.67). Lily Shields of Boylan, who ran a 2:20 split in the 4x800 Meter Relay, came back to run a personal best of 5:02.84 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of teammate Reese Kohnle (5:07.67) and Kylie Simpson of Hononegah (5:09.79). Simpson had run 2:16.58 to win the 800 Meter Run with Julia Rudolph of Freeport running 2:22.38 to finish second. Gabrielle Kohne won the 3200 Meter Run (12:06.96) with her sister Reese running 12:11.85 to finish second. Boylan’s Caroline Barker ran 16.22 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles edging Narya Benford of Rockford Auburn (16.30). Barker later ran 47.34 to win the 300 Hurdles less than a second ahead of Mya Olejniczak of Machesney Park Harlem (47.97). Freeport ran 48.23 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay and 1:43.29 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Natasha Bowman of Guilford swept the titles in the weight events winning the Shot Put (40-5) and the Discus (139-5).

 

Northern Lake County Conference @ Wauconda (5/8) – Grayslake Central scored 137 points for the conference team win ahead of Lakes Community (118 points) and Antioch (107 points). Mikayla Williams of Antioch achieved a personal best of 12.28 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of Lauryn Francis of Grayslake Central (12.38). Francis came back to run 59.31 to win the 400 Meter Dash and 25.56 to win the 200 Meter Dash just ahead of Williams (25.76). Rosalyn Gonzalez of Antioch ran 12:04.10 to win the 3200 Meter Run with Yaremi Ramos of Grayslake North finishing second (12:07.27). Gonzalez also ran 5:25.61 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of Grayslake Central’s Jordan Sutter (5:28.61) and Violet Rowe (5:29.40).

 

Northern Upper Illinois Conference @ Dakota (5/8) – Fulton scored 143 points to win their conference meet ahead of Lena-Winslow (120 points) and Galena (84 points). Emma Randecker of West Carroll will be one of the runners to watch in Charleston in two weeks. She showed why in this meet winning three events in impressive fashion. The senior started by running 12.43 to win the 100 Meter Dash ahead of Bree Schneiderman of Forreston (12.62). The two athletes finished 1-2 in the 400 Meter Dash with Randecker running a personal best of 57.24 with Schneiderman at 1:00.95). Randecker won her third event running 25.19 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Schneiderman again finished second (26.00). Eli Law of Galena was a double winner running 2:27.68 to win the 800 Meter Run and 5:32.10 to win the 1600 Meter Run.

 

South Suburban Conference-Red @ Shepard HS (5/8) – Shepard was dominant in winning the conference team title scoring 197 points. Evergreen Park was the closest team to Shepard finishing second with 114 points. Kyla Motley of Shepard, in her final conference meet, put up some great performances. Motley jumped a personal best of 20-0 to win the Long Jump with Robin Walker of Argo jumping 18-4 to finish second and Rajae Stevenson of Shepard jumping 18-2.5 to finish second. Motley finished third in the Triple Jump and third in the 200 Meter Dash. In between, Motley ran a season’s best of 14.97 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Shepard freshman Makynzee Harris ran 12.79 to edge teammate Salina Towers (12.80) for the win in the 100 Meter Dash. Harris came back to run 1:03.27 to win the 400 Meter Dash.

 

South Suburban Conference-Blue @ Oak Forest (5/8) – Lemont edged Tinley Park 140-130 for the divisional conference title. Jordyn Clark of TF South ran 12.62 to win the 100 Meter Dash, then came back to run 26.25 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Niki Tselios of Lemont ran 5:24.11 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of teammate Hannah Farley (5:25.26). Cassie Cunningham of Lemont ran 2:29.77 to win the 800 Meter Run just edging teammate Maya Fedko (2:29.93). All four athletes helped Lemont run 10:01.68 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay by a margin of over 90 seconds.

 

Three Rivers Athletic Conference @ Monmouth (5/8) – Sherrard scored 145.5 points to win the team conference title ahead of second-place Mercer County (97 points). Sherrard’s team tuned up for next week’s sectionals with a fast time in the 4x800 Meter Relay. The quartet of Kylie Mathis, Evelyn Weakley, Beth Churchill, and Anna Churchill ran a solo 9:39.29 to win the race by a margin of 53 seconds ahead of Riverdale (10:31.75). Anna Churchill came back for Sherrard to run 5:33.14 to win the 1600 Meter Run. Sarah Link of Erie-Prophetstown ran 2:25.05 to win the 800 Meter Run. Sadie Shemek of Sherrard threw 114-7 to win the discus. Mariyah Elam of Mendota achieved a personal best of 37-3 to win the Triple Jump.

 

Upstate Eight Conference @ West Chicago (5/8) – West Aurora won this 14-team conference meet scoring 132 points ahead of Glenbard East (98 points), Bartlett (74 points), and South Elgin (72.33 points). West Aurora was helped by three wins in the relay events. The Blackhawks ran 50.09 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay by almost two seconds ahead of Glenbard East (52.57). The margin was larger in the 4x200 Meter Relay between the two schools. West Aurora won the race in 1:46.19 by six seconds ahead of Glenbard East. West Aurora ran 4:18.20 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay. Dedra Tutt of West Aurora ran 15.99 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and 48.56 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Alyssa Adeoti of Aurora East swept all three sprint events. Adeoti ran 12.86 to win the 100 Meter Dash, 1:00.94 to win the 400 Meter Dash, and 26.54 to win the 200 Meter Dash by just one hundredths of a second ahead of Samantha Zaragoza of West Aurora (26.55). Mackenzie Fodrey of Glenbard East one three field events. She cleared 10-0 to win the Pole Vault, jumped 17-5.5 to win the Long Jump, and jumped 35-1.75 to win the Triple Jump. Esther Sangobowale of Bartlett swept the weight events winning the Shot Put (34-8.5) and the Discus (99-9). Sophia Baumert of Streamwood held on to run 11:09.93 to win the 3200 Meter Run with Alyssa Gregory of Bartlett finishing second (11:13.82). Caitlin Wennerstrom of South Elgin ran a personal best of 5:15.25 to win the 1600 Meter Run with Baumert running 5:16.96 to finish second.

 

Vermillion Valley Conference @ Westville (5/8) – Salt Fork scored 154 points in winning the conference title ahead of second-place Bismarck-Henning (137 points). Addison Lucht of Milford jumped a season’s best of 17-2.25 to win the Long Jump and jumped 34-5.25 to win the Triple Jump. Salt Fork won three of the four relays. They started by running 51.66 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay, running 1:53.44 edging Bismarck-Henning (1:53.89) to win the 4x200 Meter Relay, and 4:24.80 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay. Callie Richardson of Salt Fork ran 12:20.42 to win the 3200 Meter Run and 5:52.46 to win the 1600 Meter Run. Neveah Scott of Bismarck-Henning won both the 100 Meter Dash (12.97) and the 200 Meter Dash (27.30). Emily Dice of Bismarck-Henning won both the 100 Meter Hurdles (17.81) and the 300 Meter Hurdles (51.93).

 

Western Big Six Conference @ Galesburg (5/8) – Rock Island captured the title with 173.5 points. Quincy finished second (102 points) finishing ahead of Sterling (97.5 points) and Galesburg (94 points). Five of their individual wins came from two athletes. Jamarrie Lee swept the three sprints for the Rocks. Lee ran 12.30 to win the 100 Meter Dash with Kiersten Rittenhouse of Moline running 12.49 to finish second. It was close in the 400 Meter Dash but Lee prevailed running 58.37 for the win ahead of Quincy’s Anna Venvertloh (58.50) and Rittenhouse (59.26). Lee ran 25.23 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Ava Marty of Galesburg ran 25.62 to finish second. Marty in the field events jumped a personal best of 17-7 to win the Long Jump. Olivia Kennedy of Rock Island ran 15.18 to win by a second to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. The Rock Island freshman ran 46.09 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Payton Kuhl of Quincy also won two events. Kuhl ran 2:22.84 to win the 800 Meter Run. This freshman came back to run 5:18.86 to win the 1600 Meter Run with teammate Amick McClelland running 5:21.72 to finish second.

 

West Central Conference @ Rushville-Industry (5/9) – Camp Point Central and Rushville will share the Girls Conference title both scoring 113 points. Saylor Barry of Mendon Unity was the star of this meet winning four individual events split equally between the field and track. Barry started by jumping 18-7.75 to win the Long Jump. The junior then cleared 5-1.75 to win the High Jump. Barry was in control in the 100 Meter Dash running 12.44 for the win ahead of Adi Foss of Camp Point Central (12.84). Barry’s fourth win came when she ran 25.97 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Addy Bottom of Mendon Unity also won multiple events running 2:32.21 to win the 800 Meter Run and 5:44.56 to win the 1600 Meter Run.

 

East Central Illinois Conference @ Judah Christian (5/9) – Bloomington Cornerstone Christian Academy won the Girls team title with 99 points ahead of Urbana University (86 points) and Greenview (84 points). Natalie Schurman of Greenview ran 13.3 to win the 100 Meter Dash. She came right back to run 2:30.9 to win the 800 Meter Run. Annalise Schurman matched her sister’s exploits running 1:02.0 to win the 400 Meter Dash and 30-6.25 to win the Triple Jump. Faith Hughes of Cornerstone Christian Academy won both the Shot Put (29-0.5) and the Discus (90-2).

 

Interstate Eight Conference @ Morris (5/9) – Sycamore won the Girls team title with 137 points. Morris (111 points) and Kaneland (106 points) finished second and third. The Spartans had two athletes that had double wins to lead them to the team win. Alyssa Stacy ran 12.65 to win the 100 Meter Dash with Elli Sines of LaSalle-Peru a close second (12.69). It was just as close in the 200 Meter Dash with Stacy again winning (26.30) ahead of Sines. Layla Janisch of Sycamore had a close race in the 800 Meter Run as she ran 2:27.50 for the win ahead of Kyrie Cragin of Rochelle (2:28.35) and Aubrey Lines of Morris (2:28.75). Janisch came back with a personal best of 5:33.66 to win the 1600 Meter Run.

 

Lincoln-Prairie Conference @ Arcola (5/9) – Arthur-Lovington won the team title in this meet with 131 points. Okaw Valley (87 points) and Sullivan (82 points) finished second and third. Gabby Totten of Okaw Valley won three events starting with a personal best of 18-1.75 to win the Long Jump. Totten on the track ran 12.97 to win the 100 Meter Dash and 26.67 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Lindsey Ozier of Okaw Valley won the 800 Meter Run (2:29.32) and the 1600 Meter Run (5:45.57). Alex Clark of Arthur Lovington won both the Shot Put (33-9) and the Discus (105-1.75).

 

Lincoln Trail Conference @ Kewanee Wethersfield (5/9) – ROWVA Williamsfield edged Stark County 109.5-101 to win the team title. There were some great performances in this “small school” meet. Cheyenh Smith of Stark County ran 2:21.77 to win the 800 Meter Run ahead of Camrun Anderson of Wethersfield (2:22.57) and Jana Vande Kemp of Cambridge (2:22.80). The top four finishers in the 1600 Meter Run all ran for personal bests. Dusti Smith of Stark County won the race running 5:04.29 just ahead of Emily Downing of Cambridge (5:05.05). Vande Kemp (5:16.56) and Alyssa Higgins of Knoxville (5:17.37) finished third and fourth. Rosie Flynn of Monmouth United ran 58.77 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Stark County ran 9:45.44 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay ahead of Cambridge (9:51.84). Monmouth United won the 4x100 Meter relay (50.74), 4x200 Meter Relay (1:46.52) and the 4x400 Meter Relay (4:06.91).

 

Prairieland Conference @ Lewistown (5/9) – Macomb scored 152 points to win the conference team title with Elmwood (122.5 points) and Lewistown (115 points). Dakota Thorman of Macomb had a 31-1 best to win the Shot Put and a 101-11 throw to win the Discus. Macomb’s Jordan Hines ran 13.12 to win the 100 Meter Dash and 26.62 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Hines anchored Macomb to a win in the 4x100 Meter Relay (50.26). Macomb also ran 1:50.44 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay.

 

Mid-Illini Conference @ Metamora (5/7) – Dunlap won the conference team title with 150 points followed by Morton (102 points) and Metamora (96 points). Sophia Ramirez of Washington was the only multi-individual event winner in this meet. Ramirez was part of Washington’s quartet that ran 9:59.78 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay with Pekin running 10:10.67 to finish second. Sanchez ran 2:19.50 to win the 800 Meter Run. She came back to win a close 1600 Meter Run with a 5:24.32 time. Avery Braker of Morton (5:25.33) and Abby Tudeen of Dunlap (5:26.15). Tudeen earlier in the meet ran 11:18.77 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Dunlap ran 49.57 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay and ran 1:44.62 to win the 4x200 Meter Relay. Violet Weinman of Metamora and Sophia Pauli of Limestone both cleared 10-9.75 in the Pole Vault. Weinman won on fewer misses. Samantha Yeh of Dunlap cleared 5-3 to win the High Jump. Zoe Liedtke of Pekin jumped a personal best of 18-4.25 to win the Long Jump.

 

WSC-Gold Conference @ Morton Township HS, Berwyn (5/7) – Downers Grove South won their 20 straight conference divisional title scoring 164 points. Willowbrook scored 120 points to finish second. Tori Robinson-Thomas of Proviso East was the big winner in this meet winning three individual events. The senior started out by winning the Shot Put with a 38-0.75 personal best. She then cleared 5-1.75 to win the High Jump. She went to the track where she ran 44.48 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles with Kennedy Ruff of Hinsdale South finishing second (46.16). Robinson-Thomas missed on her fourth win of the meet where she finished second (15.23) behind Ruff’s winning time of 15.09. Amelie Ojeda of Willowbrook ran 11:05.08 to win the 3200 Meter Run by a margin of 44 seconds. Ojeda’ won her second race in the 1600 Meter Run (5:15.21) with Nia Ortega of Downers Grove South placing second (5:19.19). Willowbrook’s Olivia Gwaltney won the 400 Meter Dash and ran 25.84 in winning the 200 Meter Dash. Emilija Sinkevicius of Hinsdale South jumped 17-7 to win the Long Jump and jumped 37-5.75 to win the Triple Jump.

 

Chicagoland Christian Conference @ Chicago Christian (5/7) – Timothy Christian won the team title with 124 points finishing ahead of Wheaton Academy (87 points) and Hope Academy (81 points). Timothy Christian was involved in two wins. The Trojans ran 52.06 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay just ahead of Wheaton Academy (52.25). Bella Potempa of Timothy Christian cleared 4-9.75 to win the High Jump. Kihra Moes of Chicago Christian was the only individual double winner in this meet, Moes ran 12:26.30 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Her teammate Abby Mullin ran 12:38.66 to finish second. Moes came right back to run 2:34.43 to win the 800 Meter Run. Mullin doubled back to run 5:37.40 to win the 1600 Meter Run by three hundredth of a second ahead of Hayden Poole of St. Edward (5:37.43).

 

Black Diamond Conference @ McLeansboro (5/7) – Fairfield scored 163 points to win the conference team title Carmi-White County (91 points), and Vienna (86 points) finished second and third. There were a number multi event winners in this meet. Emily Vaughan of Fairfield jumped 15-9 to win the Long Jump. The sophomore went to the track where she ran 17.53 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles by more than a second. Vaughan won by over three seconds in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a 49.14 personal best. Ella Sager of Fairfield swept all three distance events. Sager ran 12:17.63 to win the 3200 Meter Run by a minute. Sager’s second win was when she ran 2:37.28 in winning the 800 Meter Run. Her third win was in the 1600 Meter Run (5:47.47) seven seconds ahead of Bailey Downing from Eldorado (5:54.69).

 

Cahokia Conference @ Roxana (5/7) – This conference meet was scored in three divisions. Freeburg scored 185 points to win the Mississippi Division with Breese Central scoring 128 points to finish second. Okawville scored 146 points to win the Kaskaskia Division ahead of Red Bud (105 points) and Trenton-Wesclin (101 points), Dupo scored 150 points to win the Illinois Division. Multi event winners in the Mississippi Division started with AnnMarie Trentman of Freeburg in the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.38), 300 Meter Hurdles (46.61), and the 200 Meter Dash (27.36); and Grace Trentman of Freeburg in the Long Jump (16-5.25) and the 100 Meter Dash (13:07). Multi-event winners from the Kaskaskia Division: Lena Schmink of Carlye won the Long Jump (15-10.5), 100 Meter Dash (13.10), and the 200 Meter Dash (26.96); Caroline Tepe of Okawville won the 800 Meter Run (2:24.89) and the 400 Meter Dash (1:00.65); Sidney Charles of Okawville won the 3200 Meter Run (12:54.33) and the 1600 Meter Run (6:04.00). Multi Event winners from the Illinois Division: Ava McClellan of Valmeyer won the Long Jump (16-4.75) and the 200 Meter Dash (28.92); Brooke Deterding of New Athens in the 800 Meter Run (2:32.49) and the 400 Meter Dash (1:02.05); Allison Taylor of Dupo won the Shot Put (31-8.75) and the Discus (115-0).

 

East Suburban Catholic Conference @ Marist (5/7) – Benet Academy continued their dominance in this meet scoring 170 points to win the team title. Marian Catholic scored 122 points to finish second. Benet Academy had three multi-event winners. Emma Briggs had a 36-0 best to win the Shot Put. The Benet junior threw 105-2 to win the Discus by close to 30 feet. The top four finishers in the 100 Meter Hurdles were separated by fourteen hundredths of a second. Gabrielle Brown of Benet Academy ran 16.40 to win the race with Arredia Primar of Marian Catholic (16.45) placing second. Brown came back to run 46.31 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles by a margin of almost four seconds. Keira Jenke of Benet Academy won two races in the distances starting with a 2:20.33 time in the 800 Meter Run. Jenke came back to run 5:07.57 to win the 1600 Meter Run with Izzy Bing of Mundelein Carmel running 5:11.82 placing second. Bing ran a personal best of 10:47.82 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Delilah Helenhouse of Benet Academy ran 11:05.24 to place second. Symone Holman of Joliet Catholic started her meet by finishing third in the Long Jump. She made up for that on the track. The junior ran a personal best of 12.17 to win the 100 Meter Dash as Brooklyn Holmes of Marian Catholic ran 12.31 to finish second. Holman later ran 25.07 to win the 200 Meter Dash.

 

Gateway Metro Conference @ Althoff Catholic (5/7) – Father McGivney scored 184 points to win the Girls conference title ahead of Althoff Catholic who scored 132 points. Elena Rybak of Father McGivney missed the indoor season due to an injury. The defending state champion in the 800 and 1600 looked strong in winning both of those races. Rybak ran an evenly paced pace in running 2:12.39 to win the 800 Meter Run 14 seconds ahead of teammate Jane Cummins. Rybak also won the 1600 Meter Run as she ran the race most of the way ending with a 5:09.16 and winning by 44 seconds. Rybak also the Griffins to the win in the 4x400 Meter Relay (4:17.09). Teammate Lily Gilbertson ran 12.73 to win the 100 Meter Dash and 25.60 to win the 200 Meter Dash by more than a second.

 

Lakeshore Athletic Conference @ Hope Academy (5/7) – Wolcott scored 124 points to win the team title with Intrinsic Charter-Downtown Campus finishing second (102 points). Maya Lerus of Lycée Français de Chicago was the only multi-event winner in this meet. The freshman jumped a personal best of 17-2 to win the Long Jump. Lerus came back to run 13.22 to win the 100 Meter Dash just ahead of Georgia Hass of Wolcott (13.28).

 

Little Illini Conference @ Robinson (5/7) – Richland County scored 126 points to win the conference title holding off Robinson (116 points) and Newton (105 points). Molly Farrell of Marshall ran three great races as she prepares for the state in over two weeks. Farrell ran 10:49.16 to win the 3200 Meter Run winning by a margin of 97 seconds. Farrell ran 5:01.11 to win the 1600 Meter Run with teammate Madeline Fox running 5:14.83 to finish second. Fox ran a personal best of 2:16.96 to win the 800 Meter Run as Mackenzi Thomas of Richland County ran 2:21.68 to place second. Farrell and Fox were both a part of Marshall’s quartet that ran 4:11.38 to win the 4x400 Meter Relay with Richland County (4:12.73) and Newton (4:13.54) placing second and third. Mary Elliott of Robinson had a double win on her final time on her home track. Elliott ran 12.60 to win the 100 Meter Dash. Brielle Seiler of Richland County ran 12.91 to finish second. Elliott ran 26.11 to win the 200 Meter Dash with Seiler at 26.56 to place second. Seiler did run 45.95 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Elliott also jumped 37-11.5 to win the Triple Jump. It was a personal best for her.

 

Southland Athletic Conference @ Bloom Township (5/7) – Kankakee captured this conference championship scoring 159 points ahead of Rich Township (147 points) and Crete-Monee (95 points). Trinity Noble of Kankakee ran 12.23 to win the 100 Meter Dash with teammate Essence Bell running 12.31 to finish second. Noble and Bell, along with DeMariana Tooles and Naomi Bey-Osborne, led Kankakee to the win in the 4x100 Meter Relay (47.69) and winning by close to two seconds ahead of Rich Township (49.13). Kankakee won the three other relays in this meet with a win in the 4x800 Meter Relay (10:27.81), the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:42.15), and the 4x400 Meter Relay (4:14.40). The only double win in this meet came when Evelyn Stolzenbach of Crete-Monee won both the 3200 Meter Run and the 1600 Meter Run.

 

Southern Illinois River to River Conference @ Murphysboro (5/7) – This conference meets was separated in two divisions. Herrin scored 158 points to win the Ohio Division with 1558.5 points just ahead of Murphysboro (151.5 points) and Carterville (144 points). Nashville scored 170 points to win the Mississippi Division ahead of Anna-Jonesboro (116 points) and Pinckneyville (113 points). Molly Robertson of Carterville had the big day in the Ohio Division with four wins. Robertson was part of Carterville’s team that ran 10:31.80 to win the 4x800 Meter Relay. She swept the distance events winning the 3200 Meter Run (12:00.10), 800 Meter Run (2:20.01), and the 1600 Meter Run (5:24.32). Other multi-event winners in that division: Kaylee King of Harrisburg in the Shot Put (34-9) and the Discus with a 130-6 personal best and winning by 32 feet; Shameria Joshua-Ayers of Murphysboro in the Long Jump (17-4.5) and the Triple Jump (35-9). Multi Event winners in the Mississippi Division: Jaydn Gerardi of Anna-Jonesboro won the 100 Meter Dash (12.86), the 400 Meter Dash (1:01.72), and the 200 Meter Dash (27.15); Emma Behrmann of Nashville in the 100 Meter Dash (16.89), the Long Jump (18-0.5), and the Triple Jump (35-5); Makayla Gajewski of Nashville in the Shot Put with a personal best of 41-7 and the Discus (123-6).

 

Illinois Prairie Conference @ Monticello (5/6) – Tolono Unity flexed their muscles as they head into sectional meets next week as a state team contender. The Rockets scored 169 for the team title finishing ahead of St. Joseph-Ogden (93 points), Monticello (90 points), and Bloomington Central Catholic (88 points). Unity’s Emma Swisher was a double winner in the sprints running 12.70 to win the 100 Meter Dash and 26.32 to win the 200 Meter Dash. Swisher was a part of the quartet that ran 49.76 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay. Ashlyn Denney of Tolono Unity had a big meet headlined by running a personal best of 57.69 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Alyson Clements of St. Thomas More finished second (59.11) in that race. Denney anchored Unity to the win in the 4x800 Meter Relay (9:54.64) as Pontiac ran 9:59.85 to place second. Denney was also a part of the Rockets quartet in the 4x400 Meter Relay as they ran a quick 4:02.96 for the win. Emily Decker of Tolono Unity was a double winner in the distance events. Decker ran 11:02.81 to win the 3200 Meter Run by a margin over one minute. She came back to run 5:03.57 to win the 1600 Meter Run ahead of Macie Owen of Monticello (5:12.18). Mackenzie Pound of Tolono Unity ran 2:19.69 to win the 800 Meter Run. Owen ran 2:22.67 to place second. Aubreyana Thompson of Rantoul swept both hurdle races running 16.12 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and a personal best of 48.16 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Maria Long of Pontiac won both horizontal jumps events. Long started out by jumping 18-0.5 to win the Long Jump. Atleigh Miller of St. Joseph-Ogden jumped a personal best of 17-7 to place second. Long came back to jump 34-11.25 to win the Triple Jump.            

 

Kishwaukee River Conference @ Marengo – The meet came down to the 4x400 Meter Relay to determine a team winner. In that race, Sandwich behind a strong anchor leg from Sundara Weber ran 4:13.44 to claim the win ahead of Woodstock (4:14.13) and Johnsburg (4:18.04). Woodstock won the conference title (122 points) ahead of Richmond-Burton (119 points) and Johnsburg (114 points). Weber did what she was expected to in winning the 3200 Meter Run. The junior ran a solo time of 10:15.80 to win by 108 seconds ahead of Alexia Spatz of Richmond-Burton (12:03.36). Spatz at the end of the meet ran 5:28.63 to win the 1600 Meter Run. It was close in the 400 Meter Dash as Hope Klosowicz of Johnsburg ran 59.59 to edge Weber (59.64) for the win in the 400 Meter Dash. Both athletes ran personal bests in that race. Admina Idris helped Woodstock to the team title winning three individual events. Idris ran 15.83 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles, 46.16 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles by more than two seconds, and 26.00 to win the 200 Meter Dash with a personal best. Sophia Kumar of Richmond-Burton won both the Long Jump (16-2.5) and the Triple Jump (32-7.5). Brenna McConnell of Woodstock North won both the Shot Put (35-3.75) and the Discus (107-7) which for the senior was a personal best.

 

National Trail Conference @ Altamont (5/6) – Effingham St. Anthony dominated this seven-team conference meet scoring 151 points for the team title. Altamont was the closest team in the competition scoring 74 points. Aubrey Denning led the Bulldogs with a double win. The St. Anthony sophomore ran alone with a 2:16.77 time to win by 17 seconds. Denning again was solo running 5:21.61 to win the 1600 Meter Run by 43 seconds. Liv Hoene of St. Anthony was a double winner running 17.47 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and 50.09 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles. Her sister Reese Hoene jumped 16-5 to win the Long Jump. Abigail Weishaar of Altamont won the 100 Meter Dash (13.02) just ahead of Reese Hoehne (13.06). Weishaar came back to run 27.55 to win the 200 Meter Dash.

 

Sangamo Conference @ Pleasant Plains (5/6) – Maroa-Forsyth won the conference title (139 points) finishing ahead of Williamsville (100 points) and Pleasant Plains (95 points). Klaire Eighner of Maroa-Forsyth won two close distance races in this meet. Eighner ran 11:56.31 to win a close 3200 Meter Run ahead of Louisa Wilson of Williamsville (11:56.74). It was close again between the two runners in the 1600 Meter Run as Eighner edged Wilson again for the win (5:18.12-5:18.51). Joelle Wilson of Williamsville ran 2:18.03 to edge Abigail Wolters of Pleasant Plains (2:18.83) in the 800 Meter Run. Wolters was part of Pleasant Plains’ quartet that ran 9:59.94 to edge Olympia (10:01.65) in the 4x800 Meter Relay. Madison Yazel of Maroa-Forsyth ran 12.47 to win the 100 Meter Dash. The freshman came back to run in the 26.21 in winning the 200 Meter Dash. Katherine Nilles of Maroa-Forsyth ran 15.65 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles and 48.80 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles.

 

South Seven Conference @ Marion (5/6) – Marion won the conference title on their home track scoring 165 points for the win. Carbondale finished second scoring 114 points in this five team meet, Kamaree Pollard of Mt. Vernon was the big winner winning all three sprint events. Pollard ran 12.40 to win the 100 Meter Dash. Gloria Pomerlee of Cahokia finished second (12.73) The senior came back to run to a personal best of 57.24 while Alaiyah Penn of Carbondale ran 59.91 to finish second, Pollard’s third win came when she ran 25.33 to win the 200 Meter Dash with Pomerlee running 26.13 to finish second. Brenna Stearns of Marion won both hurdle races. Stearns ran 16.06 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles by more than a second. Stearns was dominating in the 300 Meter Hurdles running 46.75 winning by over two seconds. The senior was also the leadoff runner for the Marion quartet that ran 49.34 to win the 4x100 Meter Relay with Cahokia running 49.60 to finish second. The closest finish on the track came when Kara Odum of Marion ran 12:08.14 to win the 3200 Meter Run. Sophie Krupa of Carbondale finished second (12:08.64). Krupa came back to win the 1600 Meter Run (5:45.24).

 

South Central Conference @ Carlinville (5/6) – Virden North Mac geared up for the state series meets with a convincing conference championship win. The Panthers scored 141 points ahead of Vandalia (93 points) and Carlinville (89.5 points). North Mac was pushed by four individual wins from Emma Crawford. The senior jumped 16-5.75 to win the Long Jump and then came back to jump 32-6.25 to win the Triple Jump. Her wins on the track were also impressive. Crawford ran 16.05 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles by more than a second, then came back to run 48.64 to win the 300 Meter Hurdles by more than six seconds. North Mac’s Kaelyn Swift ran 12.88 to edge Sophia Watkins of Hillsboro (12.95) for the 100 Meter Dash win. Swift also ran 26.62 to win the 200 Meter Dash.

 

Heart of Illinois Conference @ Fisher (5/5) – El Paso-Gridley edged Eureka 174.5 points – 170 points to win the conference title. Tri Valley scored 103.5 points to finish third. Aubrey Phillips led EPG with three individual wins. Phillips cleared 5-1 to easily win the High Jump. She achieved a personal best of 39-4 to win the Shot Put. Her third win came on the track running 16.52 to win the 100 Meter Hurdles. Keyli Cogdal of El Paso-Gridley (16.67) and Kyra Denning of Heyworth (16.73) to finish second and third. Millie Kaufman of Eureka ran 59.76 to win the 400 Meter Dash. Phillips ran 1:02.14 to place second. Meika Bender of Eureka won the 1600 Meter Run (5:18.54) finishing ahead of Caroline Wettstein from El Paso-Gridley (5:22.62).
