Batavia claims top overall Girls Relay program
By Michael Newman [email protected]
Batavia’s quartets in the 4x200m Relay and the 4x400m Relay had top 10 overall performances in those relays. Their two other relays were among the top 25. It was still good enough to capture the honors for the top Girls relay program with 154 points.
It is the first time for the Bulldogs to win this relay. It is also the lowest point total to win this relay rankings. The previous low was Lincoln-Way East scoring 156 points in 2021.
Kenwood scored 145 points to finish second ahead of Kankakee (143 points). Evanston Township (138 points) and Lincoln-Way East (137 points) finished fourth and fifth.
Three Class 2A schools finished in the top 20 with Kankakee, Normal University (13th place), and Geneseo (20th place) the three schools.
WSC-Silver Conference led all conferences with three schools finishing in the top 20. The Chicago Public League placed two teams in the top 10 for the first time in the rankings history.
The ILXCTF.com (formally the DyeStat Illinois) Relay Rankings are based off the DyeStat TFX Leaderboards on Athletic.net (as of May 28, 2022) for the four relays that are contested at the IHSA State Track & Field Meet. In the All Class, 3A, 2A, and 1A categories, the top 50 quartets are ranked with 50 points given to the fastest school down to 1 point for the 50th fastest.
