2019 WINDY CITY POLE VAULT SUMMIT

Saturday, March 2, 2019

Location: Rolling Meadows HS 2901 Central Road, Rolling Meadows, IL

VAULTING BEGINS AT 4:00PM

In it’s 18th year, the Windy City Pole Vault Summit — hosted by Rolling Meadows High School — has put together another great group of the top vaulters from around the state of Illinois.

With the graduation of two-time Pole Vault Summit Champion Zach Bradford in 2018, the boys side of this year’s Summit looks to be a tight competition. Nine of the top twelve ranked vaulters in the state of Illinois are poised to make a run at the title. Andrew Saloga (Marmion Academy) is set to lead the pack, coming off a personal best of 14’10” earlier this month at Rockford Auburn. Chandlar Ifft (Prairie Central) and Brendan Hill (York), along with several others, will be pushing him.

On the girls side, the number one ranked vaulter in Illinois — Samantha Spencer from Providence Catholic — is the top contender, jumping over 12’ three times already during the 2019 indoor season. Yasmin Ruff (Oak Park - River Forest) and Jess Streepy (Palatine) may be the most likely to challenge Spencer, but the rest of the tightly packed field will definitely be looking to make their own mark on the competition.

This year’s Windy City Pole Vault Summit should be a fun-filled afternoon with music blasting and vaulters jumping high. Vaulting will start at 4:00pm and admission to the event is free.
