Illinois HS XC Conference Meets - Weekly Highlights

 

Conference Meets held through October 13, 2023

If the good performances showed in the conference meets over the past week, we should be in store for some great State Series races over the next couple of weeks.

 

We have highlights for you of some of the conference meets that have taken place since October 2 through October 13. Highlights of the Saturday Conference Meets will be published on October 15. (Note: Rankings listed are as of 10/11/23).

 

Friday, October 13

Southwest Prairie Conference @ Channahon Park – Meet organizers made the right call changing the schedule to have the Varsity races run first in this meet. It was a little muddy in places at Channahon Park but mostly firm as evidenced by the fast times early on. The meet got the Varsity  races in before the rain hit the Greater Joliet area.

 

The Boys race was close with both #2 Plainfield South and #5 Plainfield North running their best races so far this season. South had the edge in this meet but ever so slightly defending their conference title edging Plainfield North 35-38. Dylan Maloney is running with more confidence as he showed in the last three races and developing into one of the Class 3A individual favorites heading into the state series next week. Maloney took off from the start and never looked back in setting a new course record of 14:26.7 to win individually by more than 10 seconds ahead of teammate Camyn Viger (14:37.5). Thomas Czerwinski of Plainfield North was just a second behind Viger running 14:38.7 to finish third. Owen Stahl of Plainfield North (14:54.3) and Sean Heetland of Aurora West (15:08.4) finished fourth and fifth.

 

Plainfield South’s 1-2 finish pushed them to the repeat of their conference title. Riley Fink was the team’s third runner finishing 7th followed by Joaquin DeAlba in 10th and freshman Dylan Buturusis finishing in 15th. The Cougars had a top five split of 68 seconds in this meet. Their split from Fink to Buturusis was 20 seconds. The gap between Viger to Fink was 37 seconds.  Plainfield North’s third runner was Aidan Connors who finished 8th and was 23 seconds behind Stahl. Quinn Davis was 9 and two seconds behind Connors. Easton Miller was the team’s fifth runner placing 14th. The team’s top five split was 57 seconds. The split from Connors to Miller was 17 seconds.

 

Aurora West finished third with 110 points one point ahead of fourth-place #29 Yorkville (111 points). Minooka (132 points) and Oswego East (137 points) finished fifth and sixth.

 

The Girls team race was close as expected with four ranked teams in the field. #11 Yorkville edged #10 Minooka 47-52 for the Girls Conference title. #15 Plainfield North scored 79 points to finish third with #16 Oswego East (88 points) and Oswego (147 points) finished fourth and fifth. Yorkville got off to a fast start and had the lead at 2-miles. Minooka made a charge in the final mile to catch the Foxes but ran out of real estate on this 3-mile course.

 

Morgan Dick of Oswego East in her final time in this conference race used a strong kick to win the conference title timed in 17:54.4. Five runners were within a second of each other before Sophia Keller of Yorkville sprinted out to  the lead with a half mile to go.  A quarter mile later, Dick took command of the race holding Maya Ledesma of Minooka off for the win Ledesma was a second behind in finishing second  (17:55.6) and another four seconds ahead of Keeler(17:59.3). Marlie Czarniewski of Plainfield North (18:01.5) and Ashley Schraeder of Yorkville (18:09.30) finished fourth and fifth.

 

Yorkville claimed the win by placing 4 runners in the top 11 led by the top 5 finishes from Keeler and Schraeder and with Annabelle Reeder finishing 7th and Nicole Kraus finishing 11th. The Foxes had a 26-32 edge ahead of Minooka through four runners. Their fifth runner Liliana Camargo finished 21st clinching the win for her team. Yorkville’s top five split in this race was 70 seconds. Taya Gummerson finished eighth and was the team’s second runner behind Ledesma. Natalie Nahs in 9th, Kyle Myers in 13th, and Liliana Blount finished 20th for the Indians who also had a 70 second split on their top five runners.

 

 Plainfield North continues to run better with every race. Tessa Russo finished sixth as the team’s second runner. Elsie Czarniewski finished 10th behind her sister as the team’s third runner. Emaan Hussain (24th) and Kaitlyn Ward (26th) were the team’s fourth and fifth runners. The Tigers had a 91 second split on their top five runners, a 76 second split on their top four runners.

Mid Illini Conference @ Detweiller Park -  Wet conditions were part of the first of three meets that will take place this weekend on the state meet course.  

 

10 points separated the first three teams in the Girls Varsity race. Sophia Ramirez won the individual conference title to help 2A #2 Washington repeat as team champions scoring 43 points. 2A #14 Morton scored 49 points to finish second ahead of 2A #8 Dunlap (53 points). Ramirez’s winning time of 18:13 was 14 seconds faster than second-place Sophie Krueger of Morton (18:27).Pekin’s Morgan Coker ran 18:29 to finish third.

 

Washington was tied with Morton after four runners. Ramirez’s victory  helped with Washington’s win. It was their pack that gave the Panthers the advantage putting their next four runners in between 8th and 13th places. Madeline James ran 18:47 to finish 8th to lead that pack followed by Jayne Hermann (10th), Caylie Ahten (11th), and Bailey Butler (13th). Washington’s top five split was 80 seconds. The split from James to Butler was 46 seconds.

 

Morton was helped by 3 runners in the top 10, 5 runners in the 19 in this race. Isabella Grieder was the team’s second runner behind Krueger finishing fifth. Avery Braker (9th), Brielle Hopkins (14th), and Taygen Beyer (19th) were part of the Potters’ top five. The team’s split was 90 seconds. Dunlap put 5 runners in the top 16 with a 75 second split. Abby Tudeen led the Eagles finishing 4th. She was followed by Katie Sell (6th), Kate Robertson (12th), Josie Kroll (15th), and Mia Williams (16th).

 

Morton moved to the top of the Class 2A Boys Rankings last week at Metamora. They backed up that effort with a win in this meet. The Potters placed 5 runners in the top 8 to easily win the conference title with 25 points. 2A #10 Washington finished second (63 points) ahead of 2A #27 Dunlap (71 points). Josh Weeks of Morton pulled away to win the individual race timed at 15:26. Devon Hayes of Pekin ran 15:36 to finish second with Morton’s Christian Harris running 15:39 to finish third. A pair of freshmen, Zach Born of Metamora (15:46) and Ben Gorsage of Washington (15:52), finished fourth and fifth.

 

Morton’s Yonas Wuthrich (6th), Phillip Canopy (7th), and Boston Beyer (8th) rounded out the team’s top five. The split on their scorers was 37 seconds.

 

Thursday, October 12

South Seven Conference @ Foundation Park, Centralia – The story of conference week so far was in this meet with another excellent performance turned in from Marion’s Dylon Nalley. The senior dominated the Boys Varsity race running a course record of 14:30 to win the race by 82 seconds ahead of teammate Mekeye Lomax (15:52). Nalley smashed the old conference record of 15:01 set by Alex Partlow in 2020. 2A #7 Marion placed 5 runners in the top 9 to repeat as the Boys Conference champs. The Wildcats finished ahead of 2A #12 Mt. Vernon (40 points). Four teams scored in this race. Marion had a 4 runner split of 31 second between Lomax , Raphel Greer (6th), Cade Parks (7th), and Gabriel Greer (9th). Mt. Vernon had a 57 second split on their top 5 led by a 3-4 finish from Caedmon Cook and Trey Mygatt.

 

Host Centralia placed 5 runners in the top 10 to win the Girls conference title with 32 points. Carbondale scored 50 points to finish second. Kara Odum of Marion ran 19:42 for the individual win with Centralia’s Aurora Amason (20:08) and Gracie Morgan (21:00) finishing second and third.

 

Central Illinois Conference @ Davey Trail, ShelbyvilleKatie Foltz of Tuscola ran away from the rest of the field in the Girls race. Foltz ran 17:28 to win individually with Tessa Bowers of Shelbyville running 17:53 to finish second. The next closest runner was Anna Tyson also from Shelbyville running 19:19 to finish third. 1A #3 Shelbyville placed 5 runners in the top 10 to score 26 points winning the team title ahead of 1A #21 Clinton (42 points) and Tuscola (66 points).

 

1A #1 Tuscola ran this race to win not on time. One second separated the first four runners, a 17 second split on their top 5 runners to score 16 points to easily win the Boys title. Will Foltz and Josiah Hortin ran 15:28 while teammates Jackson Barrett and Blake McLeese ran 15:29 to finish third and fourth. Clinton’s Drew Moser broke the Tuscola pack up running 15:38 to finish fifth. Xander Neamtu was Tuscola’s fifth runner with a 15:46 time.  1A #18 Clinton (46 points) and Shelbyville (74 points) finished second and third.

 

Black Diamond Conference @ Ferne Clyffe State Park, GorevilleGrant Jennette ran away with the individual race win to help Fairfield place 7 runners in the top 12 to win the Boys Conference title with 30 points. Carmi-White County (64 points) and Vienna (67 points) finished second and third. Jeannette’s winning time of 17:01 was 76 seconds ahead of second-place Noah Kennedy of Vienna (18:17) and Lane Connaway of Carmi-White County (18:28). Fairfield also won the Girls team title 17-38 ahead of Vienna. They were the only two teams to score in this race. Molly Merrill of Goreville ran 20:28 to win by 53 seconds ahead of Ella Sager of Fairfield (21:21).

 

Independent School League @ Lake Forest Academy – 1A #14 Latin School put 3 runners in the first 4 places to help them win the Girls League title with 51 points. Chicago University (54 points) and Willows Academy (60 points) finished second and third. Mia Kotler of Latin tuned up for the state series running 18:18 for the individually with teammate Ellen Anderson running 19:44 to finish second ahead of Taara Sajdeh of Chicago University (20:40) and Ruby Larsen of Latin School (20:58).

 

1A #9 Niles Northridge scored 27 points to win the Boys League title finishing ahead of Latin School (65 points) and Chicago University (86 points). John Kipp ran 16:19 to lead Northridge Prep with the individual win. The Knights placed 5 runners in the top 10 to capture the win. Daniel Goodman of Latin School ran 16:34 to finish second. Brady Kataoka of Northridge Prep and Jack Lyons of Latin School both ran 16:39 to finish third and fourth.

 

Mississippi Valley Conference @ Principia College, Elsah – 2A #9 Waterloo won the Girls Conference championship scoring 25 points while placing 5 runners in the top 10. Highland (63 points) and Troy Triad (66 points) finished second and third. Angelynn Kanyuck led a 1-2-3 finish for the Bulldogs running 18:56 for the win. Teammates Cameron Crump (19:10) and Danielle Mudd (19:23) were next across the line. Payton Frey of Highland (19:35) and Kennedy Bowman of Triad (19:49) were also a part of the top five individual finishers.

 

The individual win from Max Weber helped 2A #15 Civic Memorial to the Boys Conference title with 49 points. 2A #18 Triad finished second (59 points) ahead of Highland (69 points) and Waterloo (74 points). The winning time from Weber of 15:33 was 19 seconds ahead of second-place Drew Twyman of Triad (15:52). Kyle Kern of Waterloo (15:56) finished third while Highland’s Christian Knobloch (15:57) and Avery Brock (16:00) finished fourth and fifth. Civic Memorial placed 5 runners in the top 15. Their second runner Justice Eldridge finished tenth. The split on their 2-5 runners was 20 seconds.

 

Southern Illinois River to River Conference @ Fort Massac State Park, Metropolis – 1A #2 Benton placed 5 runners in the top 8 to win the Boys Mississippi Division title with 1A #6 Pinckneyville scoring 44 points to finish second. Gavin Genisio of Benton and Isaac Teel of Pinckneyville faced off for the first of the three times heading to the state meet. Genisio ran 14:27 on the 2.9-mile course to repeat as conference championship with Teel running 14:42 to finish second. Benton’s 2-5 split was 70 seconds that included Gabriel McLain (3rd), Cole Buchanan (4th), Mason Tieffel (7th), and Kaden Blades (8th). The Panthers placed 5 runners in the first 14 led by Teel and followed by Landen Boman (5th), Christian Queen (11th), Brendan Conway (12th), and Zach Teel (14th). Their four runner split from Boman was 90 seconds. DuQuoin finished third (89 points) behind the sixth-place finish from freshman Hayden Swiney.

 

Herrin behind the 1-2 finish from Waylon Hall and Mason King won the Ohio Division Boys race with 31 points. Murphysboro scored 46 points to finish second. Hall ran 16:15 to win by six seconds ahead of teammate King (16:21). Jaydon Miller of Massac County was another second behind in finishing third. The key to Herrin’s win was placing 3 runners in the top 5 as well as having their top 5 in the first 14 with a 116 second split.

 

1A #2 Anna-Jonesboro tuned up for the next three state series meet with a convincing effort in winning the Mississippi Division Girls title with just 20 points. 1A #25 Pinckneyville (51 points) and DuQuoin (64 points) finished second and third. Anna-Jonesboro placed 5 runners in the top 7 to claim the team title paced by the individual win from Jadyn Gerardi. The freshman ran 18:00 to win individually by 31 seconds ahead of Vanessa Teel of Pinckneyville (18:31). A-J had a 47 second split on their next four runners with Aleah Box (3rd), Kinley Leek (4th), Reese Jones (5th), and Raegan Jones (7th) part of that pack.

 

2A #25 Carterville was just as convincing in winning the Ohio Division Girls race placing 5 runners in the top 7 and scoring just 23 points. Murphysboro (53 points) and Herrin (62 points) finished second and third in this division. Molly Robertson of Carterville claimed the individual title running 18:23 for the win. Miah Gilmore of Murphysboro ran 19:07 to finish second. Ellary Blakey ran 19:16 for Herrin to finish third ahead of fourth-place finisher Lyla Seaman of Carterville (19:21).

 

Western Big 6 Conference @ Saukie Golf Course, Rock IslandDale Johnson of Sterling flexed his muscles heading into the next three weeks of state series races. Johnson, who finished second last year in the 2A State Meet, repeated as the Boys Conference champion with a 15:14 winning time. Geneseo’s Dylan Gehl (15:36) and Sam Mosbarger (15:52) finished second and third. That finished helped 2A #25 Geneseo win the Boys Conference title 46-51 ahead of 2A #21 Sterling. Quincy (91 points) and Rock Island (99 points). Geneseo was stretched out with 5 runners in the top 17 with a 90 second split on their runners. Their 3-5 split off eighth-place finisher Jaxson Sottos was 32 seconds. Sterling placed 5 runners in the top 19 with a 114 second split off Johnson. Their split off second runner Aalin Schmidt was 32 seconds.

 

Geneseo made it a sweep for the school in the Girls race. The Maple Leafs placed 5 runners in the top 17 to earn them the Girls Conference title with 58 points. 2A #27 Sterling scored 65 points to finish second ahead of Quincy (77 points). Olivia Schuering of Quincy ran 18:40 to win the Girls individual championship by 22 seconds ahead of Rubi Tapia-Macias of East Moline United and Brooklyn Smith of Geneseo who both were timed at 19:02.

 

Wednesday, October 11

Southwest Conference @ Frank Holton Park Golf Course, East St. Louis - #4 O’Fallon was perfect in the Boys Varsity race Wednesday afternoon sweeping the first five places on their way to scoring a perfect 15 points. #28 Edwardsville scored 45 points to finish second. The next closest team was Bellville West who scored 111 points to finish third. O’Fallon did not have their full lineup two weeks ago at Nike XC Town Twilight. They did in this meet led by the individual win from Dylan Ybarra who ran a lights-out 14:17 to claim the win. Zach Thoman finished second (14:47) followed by Brayden Kloeppel (15:02), Eli Greenstreet (15:11), and Harrison Schroeder (15:22). The top five split for the Panthers in this race was 65 seconds. The first “non-O’Fallon” runner to cross the line was Jackson Amick of Edwardsville who finished sixth (15:28). The Tigers just had a 30 second split on their top five runners (6-7-8-11-13).

 

#8 Edwardsville put 6 runners in the top 8 places to easily win the Girls team title with 23 points. O’Fallon (36 points) and Belleville West (115 points) finished second and third. Ellie Bush of O’Fallon ran 17:40 to win the individual race by one second ahead of Madison Popelar of Edwardsville (17:41). The Tigers had a 67 second split on their 2-5 pack led by Olivia Coll (3rd) and followed by Emma Patrick (5th), Maya Lueking (6th), and Antonella DeAvilla (7th).

 

Lakeshore Athletic Conference @ Butler Park, Evanston – Beacon Academy swept the first two places and placed 5 runners in the top 9 team places to score 21 points to win the Boys Conference team title ahead of Lycée Français de Chicago (32 points). Carlos Lucero of Beacon Academy ran 17:50 to win the individual title ahead of teammate Calvin Wooldridge (19:26). Lycée Français de Chicago was the only team to have five runners finish in the Girls race. Camille Brice led her team running 23:19 to win the race with Kelsey Castette of Wolcott running 23:30 to finish second.

 

Tuesday, October 10

Little Illini Conference @ LaVern Gibson XC Course, Terre Haute IN – The Girls race was extremely close in meet held at LaVern Gibson XC Course. It was not close in the individual race as Molly Farrell of Marshall rolled to the win running 17:43.0 on the 5k course. Madeline Fox of Marshall and Quinn Wesley of Robinson both ran 19:11 finishing second and third. Richland County (5-8-9-10-15) edged 1A #17 Robinson (3-7-11-12-14) 42-43 for the team title. 1A #18 Marshall (1-2-13-20-21) scored 52 points to finish third. Four runners in the top 10 powered Richland County led by the fifth-place finish from Mackenzi Thomas.

 

1A #26 Newton were in full control of the Boys race. The Eagles placed 4 runners in the top 10 (2-8-9-10-14) on their way to scoring 38 points to win the team title ahead of Paris (64 points) and Richland County (73 points). Austin Wesley easily won the individual race with a 16:21.9 winning time. Luke Weber of Newton (16:55.9) and Paris freshman Harrison Hays (17:10.3) to finish second and third. Newton had a 57 second split on their top four runners. Their overall top five split was 85 seconds.

 

Apollo Conference Meet @ Christian County Fairgrounds, Taylorville – 2A #10 Mt. Zion placed 5 runners in the top 11 to win the Girls conference title with 30 points. Mahomet-Seymour (47 points) and 2A #19 Effingham (52 points) finished second and third. It came down to a finish kick that helped Ava Boyd of Mahomet-Seymour win the individual race (18:09.1) just ahead of Renee Ballard of Mt. Zion (18:10.2). Mt. Zion ran a 94 second split on their top 5 runners that included Avery Sommer (3rd), Camille Mavis (6th), Ellie Fritzsche (8th), and Brooke Doyle (11th).

 

Mt. Zion made it a sweep in winning the team title in the Boys race. The 2A #14 Braves placed 4 runners in the top 8 to help them score 31 points for the win. 2A #9 Taylorville (48 points) and 2A #28 Mahomet-Seymour (66 points) finished second and third. Julian Baker of Mt. Zion ran 15:21 to claim the individual title with Owen Morgan of Taylorville running 15:37 to finish second. Mt. Zion’s top 5 split was 96 seconds on their top five. Their split on their 2-5 pack was 55 seconds.

 

Gateway Metro Conference @ Father McGivney Catholic HS – 1A #15 Father McGivney edged Belleville Althoff Catholic 28-35 to win the Girls team title.  The Griffins were led by a 1-2 finish by Elena Rybak and Kaitlyn Hatley. Rybak ran 17:37 for the win finishing 27 seconds ahead of her teammate Hatley (18:04). Breigh Diamond of Althoff Catholic ran 18:50 to finish third. 1A #30 Father McGivney edged 1A #22 Belleville Althoff Catholic 40-42 to win the boys team title.  Father McGivney (5-6-7-10-13) and Althoff Catholic (2-3-9 14-16) were even through four runners. The 13th place finish from Aidan Schmidt made the difference for the Griffins. Elijah Gregory of Christ Our Rock Lutheran ran 16:31 to win the individual title by 27 seconds ahead of Sam Hiller of Althoff Catholic. Father McGivney was led by a 5-6-7 finish from Connor Schmidt, Levi Huber, and Liam Schmidt. Their 1-5 split in the race was 47 seconds.

 

NTC Conference Meet @ Community Park, EffinghamIsabella Keller did not run in this meet for St. Anthony. The 1A #7 Bulldogs still swept the first three places to win the team title with 27 points. Neoga scored 55 points to finish second. Freshman Aubrey Denning led St. Anthony winning the individual race timed at 19:28. Teammates Stacey Vonderheide (20:19) and Emma Helmink (21:08) finished second and third. Cowden-Herrick edged St. Anthony 32-38 to win the Boys race. August Cosart of Cowden-Herrick was the individual winner in 16:36 ahead of runner-up Aidan Braunecker of St. Anthony by 43 seconds (17:19). Cowden-Herrick placed 5 runners in the top 12 to help them win the Boys championship.

 

VVC Conference Meet @ Chrisman HS – It was a tight battle for the Boys team title in this meet. Fithian Oakwood scored 44 points to win the team title ahead of Bismarck-Henning (48 points) and Iroquois West (50 points). Andrew McTaggart of Watseka dominated the race to claim the individual race in 17:04. He won by 47 seconds ahead of Seth Ellis of Chrisman (17:51). Bismarck-Henning edged Fithian Oakwood 25-33 for the Girls title. They were they only two schools to score in that meet. Macie Russell of Oakwood ran 19:45 to win individually with teammate Callie Richardson running 20:48 to finish second.

 

Saturday, October 7

Sangamo Conference @ Williamsville – Both races ended up close in deciding who would win this conference titles. 1A #10 Williamsville (1-4-5-14-17) edged 1A #11 Pleasant Plains (6-7-8-12-13) 35-39 for the Girls team title. Pleasant Plains placed 5 runners into the finish before Williamsville’s fourth runner crossed the line. The difference in this meet was that Williamsville placed 3 runners across the line before the pack of Pleasant Plains crossed. Louisa Wilson of Williamsville ran 18:22 to win the Girls title for the third straight year. Klaire Eighner of Maroa-Forsyth (18:33) and Emma Swartzendruber of Stanford Olympia (18:53) finished second and third. Hannah Nation and Joelle Wilson were the second and third runners for Williamsville finishing fourth and fifth. Abigail Wolters of Pleasant Plains was two seconds behind the Williamsville duo in sixth.

 

1A #10 Pleasant Plains turned the tables in the Boys race winning the team title with 40 points. 1A #15 Petersburg PORTA scored 53 points in finishing second. Reece Peters of Maroa-Forsyth ran 15:14 to win individually with Elijah Teefey of Pleasant Plains (15:26) and Isaac Crumrine of Riverton (15:33) finishing second and third. Pleasant Plains placed 5 runners in the top 15 to give them the winning edge. Petersburg PORTA, led by the fourth-place finish from Haven Gronewold, placed their top 5 in the top 16.

 

Thursday, October 5

Lincoln Trail Conference @ Midland Golf Club, KewaneeKennady Anderson of Wethersfield ran in her final conference meet. She was successful running 17:39 to defend her conference title. She won this race for all four years that she attended her school. Emily Downing of Cambridge ran 18:14 to finish second ahead of Dusti Smith of Stark County (18:30). 1A #12 Knoxville placed 5 runners in the top 14 including 3 runners in the top 10 to capture the team title with 42 points. 1A #29 Stark County (67 points) finished second with Princeville (73 points) and Cambridge (79 points) finishing third and fourth. Knoxville was led by a 4-5 finish from Alyssa Higgins and Emily King.

 

1A #25 Princeville edged Mercer County 43-47 for the Boys team title. Princeville placed 3 runners in the top 6 led by the individual win from Joey Bosch. The senior ran 15:35 to win by 11 seconds ahead of Karson Shrum of Wethersfield (15:46).

 

Tuesday, October 3

Illinois Prairie Conference @ Three Sisters Park, Chillicothe – Class 1A top ranked Tolono Unity took home five of the top six places to repeat as Girls conference champions scoring only 18 points. St. Thomas More was the closest team to the Rockets scoring 74 points to finish second. Mackenzie Pound captured the individual title (19:15) five seconds ahead of teammate Emily Decker. Savanna Franzen broke up the Unity pack running 19:24 to finish third. Erica Woodard (19:43), Olivia Shike (19:46), and Ashlynn Denney (20:07) were separated by 24 seconds for Unity that ended up with a 52 second split on their top five runners.

 

Carson Maroon won the Boys individual race in 16:08 to lead 1A #7 St. Joseph-Ogden to team title with 56 points. 2A #26 Pontiac finished second (67 points) ahead of 1A #19 Tolono Unity (68 points) and Illinois Valley Central (77 points). Maroon was five seconds ahead of second-place Aidan Lee of Pontiac (16:13) and another seven seconds ahead of Brecken Fahrenkrug of Illinois Valley Central (16:20).

 

West Central Conference @ South Park, Quincy – Only two teams scored in the Boys race. Quincy Notre Dame edged Liberty 28-29 for the team title. Parker Quinlan of Hamilton-West Hancock ran 16:44 to win the individual race by 60 seconds ahead of Lane Obert of Liberty (17:44). Quincy Notre Dame placed 6 runners in the first 8 places to win the girls team title with 20 points. Liberty scored 53 points to finish second. Freshman Briella Neisen of Liberty was the Girls individual winner (21:24) finishing ahead of Abigail Genenbacher of Quincy Notre Dame by 28 seconds (21:52).
